Saint Andrew Bay - Bay, FL Fishing Report on 22nd May, 2026

The late spring bite in Panama City is producing excellent results across the board right now. With water temperatures in the Gulf and St. Andrew Bay hitting the ideal range, we are seeing aggressive feeding patterns from several highly sought-after species.

Inshore The flats and jetties around St. Andrew Bay are highly productive, especially during the early morning hours and moving tides.

Redfish: Bull reds are hanging around the passes and deep structures. Drifting live crabs or pinfish on a falling tide is yielding consistent hookups.

Speckled Trout: Early morning topwater bites are excellent over the grass flats. As the sun gets high, switching to live shrimp or pilchards under a popping cork is keeping the rods bent.

Nearshore & Offshore The nearshore reefs and wrecks are holding solid numbers of bait, drawing in both pelagics and bottom-dwellers.

King & Spanish Mackerel: The kings are hitting trolled cigar minnows and live blue runners just off the beaches. Spanish mackerel are schooling tightly, and casting silver spoons into surface feeding frenzies is producing fast limits.

Bottom Fishing: The local reefs are providing steady, reliable catches of vermilion snapper (mingos) and triggerfish. We are also seeing good numbers of amberjack putting up heavy fights over the deeper wrecks.
